Letter from IFC President

Letter from the IFC President:

 Dear Prospective Fraternity Member,

Congratulations on your decision to become a part of the WKU family, and welcome to our Greek community here on the Hill! College is an extraordinary time in our lives, and there is no better way to complement your experience than by joining a Greek organization. Whether you're from far away or close, outgoing or reserved, quiet or loud, I truly believe there is a home for you in one of our thirteen social fraternities.

My name is Benjamin Hopper, and I am the current Interfraternity Council (IFC) President. Over the last half century, Greek life at WKU has elevated our campus and city community and transformed thousands of young adult lives. You can count on the time you spend in fraternity life to be some of your happiest years being in the company of your brothers- a home away from home.

WKU fraternity GPA has consistently outperformed the all-men's average. WKU Greeks provide thousands of service hours and donations to philanthropies. Most of our leaders in other campus organizations are Greek. Each organization contains deeply rooted values that are impressed upon each member. You will gain social confidence, leadership experience, and become more prepared for the professional world. You will truly gain brothers for life through your fraternity.

We want YOU to become a part of this rich tradition at WKU. We are looking to improve upon the success our fraternities have seen over the last 50 years. We want young men to join our chapters who will cause the things mentioned above to continue. This is vital, as Greek life today is under much scrutiny across the country.

I encourage you to examine those aspects of fraternities mentioned above and ask yourself if those are some of things you desire out of your college experience. If so, I have no doubt you belong in one of our fraternities and will find your home away from home. By doing what is right and living by our organizations' values, together we can continue to be a valued partner in higher education at WKU.

Feel free to reach out to me at benjaminhopper1996@gmail.com or any IFC executive board member below- we are here to help you through this process.

Thank you for reading, and GO TOPS!
