Biography

Dr. Moore was born and grew up in Danville, Kentucky. She graduated with a degree in English from Centre College in Danville in 1975. In 1979, Dr. Moore married Bowling Green native Hamp Moore and moved to Bowing Green where they have lived ever since. They have three children, Katherine, Hampton, and John. 

Dr. Moore earned a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Counseling at Western Kentucky University in 1985. In 1992 she earned a Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders, and in 2013 she earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

She provided speech-language therapy with young children for more than 25 years and was the Communication Disorders Clinic Director at WKU from1996 until 2015.  Her clinical interests include autism spectrum disorders, developmental apraxia of speech, and assessment. Dr. Moore is an Associate Professor with the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at WKU.

Dr. Moore has been the Executive Director for the Suzanne Vitale Clinical Education since 2015.

For over a decade, the mission of the CEC has been to provide vital support services to the community to enhance socialization and communication, and to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families affected by ASD and Developmental Delays/Disabilities. Dr. Moore and the CEC faculty and staff have continued the CEC’s mission by increasing program outreach and educational opportunities, expanding current services, and applying current, best practice therapeutic approaches.
