Student Spotlight

Over the summer, Shyama Iyer attended the IndianRaga Fellowship as a Bharathanatyam (Indian classical dance) fellow, spending a week choreographing and filming videos with fellow artists. Watch her in this dance video about the strength and power of the goddess or female energy. It shows her conquest of darkness and evil as well as her fierce courage and kindness.

Western Kentucky University awarded Shyama the Lifetime Achievement grant in order to help with paying for the experience! She is continuing her studies in music theatre, dance, and performing arts administration here at WKU.
