DELO Testing Centers: General Testing Guidelines

Reserved Testing Appointments

The instructor will determine the testing window for each exam. You will not be allowed to schedule outside of the specified exam window without prior approval from your professor. The professor will need to email the approval to the DELO Testing Centers email: delo.onsite@wku.edu or submit a testing exception form.

The time you reserve for an exam is the time that the exam starts. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for a reserved appointment and the testing center is full, you will be directed to the office to reschedule. You will not be given an extension of time if you start the exam late and it is near close of business for the day.  If you do not have the maximum allotted time to complete an exam upon arrival to the testing center, yet you still want to complete your exam, you will be required to sign A Waiver of Time form.

There are a number of parking options available to you when visiting our testing center.

  • If you have a current, valid WKU parking permit, all permits are honored at the South Campus lot. Be sure to park in the student section if you are a current WKU student and the faculty/staff section if you are faculty/staff. Do not park in the Knicely Conference Center visitor parking; that section is for guests of the Knicely Conference Center only.
  • If you do not have a current, valid WKU parking permit:
    • To park in the South Campus lot, you can purchase a visitor permit at the Parking and Transportation office or make a Park Mobile reservation available online. The Parking and Transportation Office is located behind South Campus facing Campbell Lane.
    • Free parking is also available at Campbell Lane. You must obtain a free parking permit from the Parking and Transportation Office to park in that lot.

Please note parking options and fees are subject to change without notice. To obtain the most up-to-date and detailed information about parking passes and parking locations before visiting our testing center, please reference the Parking and Transportation website at wku.edu/transportation. If you have any questions or concerns about parking on WKU’s campus you may contact the Parking and Transportation Office at (270) 745-2361 or transportation@wku.edu. Testers requiring parking accommodations due to accessibility issues, please contact Parking and Transportation or visit wku.edu/transportation/disability.

Check-In Process

Arrival: Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete the testing check-in process.

Identification: You must show current photo identification before you will be allowed to take an exam at either testing location. Valid forms of identification are: WKU Student ID, state-issued driver’s license, passport, or other government issued photo identification. If you present identification that is expired, difficult to read, or damaged, you will be asked for a second form of valid identification. If you cannot present a second form of identification, you will not be allowed to test and will have to reschedule.

Memorandum of Understanding: During the check-in process, you will be required to complete a memorandum of understanding which details the DELO Testing Centers examination procedures and the materials allowed will be verbally relayed to the tester via the proctor on duty.

Please read over the Memorandum of Understanding carefully. Click here for a sample.

Restricted Items: During the check-in process, cell phones and other handheld electronic devices will be collected and stored in a storage box by the check-in desk. No personal items are allowed in the testing rooms. The DELO Testing Centers staff is NOT RESPONSIBLE for personal property brought into the centers. Please consider leaving valuables at home.

No food or drink of any kind will be allowed inside the testing room.

Materials Allowed

You may not use books, notes, calculators, or other aids when taking your exam unless your instructor has given permission to the DELO Testing Centers staff that such items are allowed during your exam. Instructors supply this information in advance of your testing dates.

Testing Infractions

Proctors in the testing centers will monitor you during your exam. Monitoring includes walking through the room and observing, reviewing from the cameras that are in use inside the testing room, and observing computer activity via NetOp Vision Pro.

How does the DELO Testing Centers define a testing infraction?
A tester breaches the general testing guidelines defined within the DELO Testing Centers Memorandum of Understanding or the specific exam instructions provided by the tester’s instructor for a specific exam.

If you are caught committing a testing infraction on an exam, the proctor will report the incident to the DELO Testing Centers supervisor on duty and will write an incident report which will be given to your instructor. The faculty member will then take appropriate action which may include a failing grade "F" on the exam or a failing grade "F" in the course. Additional actions which may be taken involve probation, suspension or expulsion from the university as deemed by the Offices of Student Life and Judicial Affairs.
