WKU Owensboro Chancellor

As Regional Chancellor of WKU Owensboro, I invite you to search the website to meet our faculty and staff, look at our degrees and course offerings and get your questions answered about financial aid, scholarships, Joint Admissions, WKU Transfer Center and many other subjects that will help you as you begin or continue your education journey with us.

Our staff spent over a year working together to establish and define why WKU Owensboro exists, how we behave, what is our purpose in our community, how we will succeed and what are our most important goals.

We decided that we exist to empower individuals to transform their lives through education.  Education is more important today than any other time in our history.  Research clearly shows that salaries increase with more education and that layoffs are correlated with a lack of education.  Our county has set a goal to increase the percentage of bachelor’s degree holders to meet our workforce needs.

We  encourage a “Work/Life Balance” in our culture,  emphasize a “student first” style of service,  contribute to self-reliance by using the “Teach to Fish” model,  embody the wisdom of “The Spirit Makes the Master” in all we do and say and embrace innovative solutions by being “trend setters” with our entrepreneurial and ‘can do’ mindset.

Our purpose is to provide public upper division undergraduate and graduate education in the region.

We will succeed when we differentiate ourselves by providing exceptional, personalized and customized student services,  low cost/affordable degree programs matched to the current job market and solid relationships with KCTCS/Joint Admission partners, high schools, veterans, adult learners and businesses.

Our main goals are to grow enrollment and see our students succeed!

We take these initiatives seriously and want you to hold us accountable.  We encourage your input.  If you see that we are lacking in one of these areas, please let me know.  If you have suggestions of how we can improve our service to you, our students, please let us know.  I welcome your comments.

Have a great semester!
