The WKU Biology Department offers the Master of Science in Biology degree. Training in Biology provides many opportunities in teaching, research, and public service and provides excellent preparation for many other areas of basic and applied sciences.
In addition to the traditional MS in Biology Degree, we also recently started an Online Non-Thesis MS in Biology, which allows students to attain a Master's degree without the need to attend courses on-campus.
Admission to the MS in Biology program is competitive. Individuals interested in applying should view the department website for addition information prior to applying. To learn more visit: http://www.wku.edu/biology/grad_admission.php.
Both thesis and non-thesis options require students to complete more than 30 hours of coursework and have a supervised research experience. The two programs differ in number of courses required and the emphasis on research.
