TOPCAT is WKU Libraries' state of the art online catalog. You can point and click to search the Libraries' holdings; print, e-mail or download results; and seamlessly link to cited Internet resources. Although most of the records in the database are for books, you will also be able to find the titles of journals, magazines, newspapers, and microform collections that the libraries subscribe to. Not included in TOPCAT are holdings for government documents, individual titles within microform collections, and artifacts in the collection of the Kentucky Museum.
Search TOPCAT with a Basic Search using Title, Keyword, Author, Subject, Journal title, or Call Number. You can also do an advanced search. TOPCAT allows you to use Boolean operators (AND, OR, and NOT).
TOPCAT also allows you to search for course reserve materials that your professor has placed on reserve. The Course Reserve search allows you to find materials by instructor, department, or course name.
You can search TOPCAT anywhere as long as an Internet connection and a web browser such as Netscape or MS IE are available.

Many college and university library catalogs are accessible from the gopher and/or web site of the parent institution. If you know the institution that you want to access, but not the Internet address, you can search the American Universities Webpage or the College Locator, or simply Google it.
