FROM THE UNIT LEADER

Welcome to Leadership Studies! Thank you for visiting our website and providing us an opportunity to explain the wonderful programs and courses available to you that will allow you to learn and develop a critical life skill – leadership! Everyone does leadership and we hope you take this opportunity while attending WKU to further develop this important aspect of your life.

Leadership Studies offers a great variety of courses and programs that can meet your needs while fitting into your academic plans. We have certificates at both undergraduate and graduate levels, a minor in Organizational Leadership, the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. Our programs are designed to accommodate the learning needs of all students by offering courses both online and in person.

We have classes that focus on practical leadership skills such as leadership ethics, team leadership, leading change, contemporary issues and global leadership. All our programs are applied and require students to not only learn leadership, but to practice leadership. Through our courses and faculty mentoring, we provide students an opportunity to gain a greater awareness of their personal leadership, various ways one can lead, and to gain insight on effectively leading organizations. Our ultimate goal is to better prepare you to face life’s leadership challenges!

Our faculty is interdisciplinary and have practical leadership experience to compliment a theoretical foundation making our courses very applied and experiential. We recognize the need for leadership understanding and practice in every area of contemporary life and we design our programs to allow students to gain the knowledge, experience, and credentials they need to succeed in life.

On behalf of our faculty, staff, and students, we thank you for visiting our web site. We would love to meet you in person and discuss your leadership needs and desires at any time. Please contact us if you have any questions or if we can be of service to you as you pursue your academic and life goals.
