Audio Visual Technology
Audiovisual technology can be utilized to enhance the learning environment. Audiovisual support at WKU extends to academic and non-academic areas around campus. The various forms of audiovisual support include audiovisual design, installation, and programming. Another service, provided by a recent Academic Affairs initiative, is free projector bulb replacement for academic spaces.
WKU has three main methods for audio conferencing: Analog Telephone - connects up to 3 participants, Digital and VoIP Telephone - connects up to 6 participants, Hosted Audio Conferencing - connects up to 25 participants. Groups over 25 can be accommodated.
Interactive Video Services / IVS
Through the use of video conferencing, IVS provides faculty with the technical support to teach varying subjects in real-time between all WKU campuses. IVS rooms are conveniently located on all WKU campuses, are high-definition capable and have an assortment of technical teaching tools. IVS classes are supported with unlimited access to supportive, specialized and knowledgeable service agents.
Room-Based Video Conferencing
WKU hosts a network of over 40 videoconferencing-enhanced rooms throughout Western Kentucky with locations in Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Glasgow, and Owensboro. Room-based video conferencing provides you high-quality, regional, national and international reach to almost anywhere in the world.
Desktop Video Conferencing
Web conferencing refers to a service that allows information to be shared with varying remote locations simultaneously across various geographical locations using a desktop or laptop computer. The technology includes features that allow users to interact through voice, video, desktop sharing, chat, polling, document sharing, and note posting.
For Fall 2013, the IT Division implemented a new online service request system allowing you to report problems and seek assistance online.
The 2013-2014 academic year's free lab print allocation is available to use beginning August 12.
