Graduate Assistantships

If you are a graduate student you may have the option of applying for a Graduate Assistantship. Western Kentucky University awards assistantships to select graduate students. Graduate assistantship stipends serve as the primary means of support for many graduate students enabling them to pursue higher degrees and grow professionally through the development and application of discipline-based knowledge. At the same time, the University gains the benefit of assistant-provided, high quality services at reasonable cost. Thus, the graduate assistantship program is mutually beneficial to both the student and the University. Learn more about graduate assistantships>>

Student Loans

As an international student you are not eligible for U.S. federal loans or work study. However you do have other options available. One option is to take out a loan in your home country. Always carefully consider the terms and potential consequences of a loan before you borrow. Before signing a loan, look into other funding sources, such as scholarships and fellowships. Never borrow money you do not believe you can pay back.

Working On-Campus
