Seth Newby

Hey!

My name is Seth Newby and I am elated to be your H4 counselor! I am from LaRue County, Kentucky near Elizabethtown. I am majoring in Financial Planning with a minor in Economics. I am the first one in my family to attend WKU for my undergraduate degree. Choosing the Mahurin Honors College at WKU is honestly one of the best choices I have made in my life.Seth Newby

I am involved in various organizations on campus from campus ministries to ambassadorial groups. You will not regret choosing the Mahurin Honors College from the plethora of opportunities available and friendships to be formed. One of the many recommendations I would make is to write down a few goals and aspirations you have for your time while at college. It is perfectly normal for these aspirations and interests to shift during your time here.

H4 is an opportunity to get to know your fellow peers and learn what it means to be a Mahurin Honors scholar. My H4 experience was the start to many of my friendships here at WKU. It is important to put yourself out there starting from move-in day through your college experience. H4 is an experience that creates memories that last throughout your college years.

Some of my hobbies and interests include, but are not limited to: traveling, church, basketball, Seinfeld, volleyball, skiing, camping, and (amateur, at best) photography. I am constantly seeking to learn and participate in new things. I am currently learning to play guitar from YouTube. I’m sure we can find some mutual interests.

I’m here to provide any insights into the transition from high school to college and make that process as smooth as possible for you. I hope that we can create an environment in which you can get a taste of how great the Mahurin Honors College and WKU are. I can’t wait to meet you all! Feel free to email or text me any questions. Enjoy the rest of your Summer!

See you soon,

Seth Newby
