My name is Nikil Ravishankar and I am thrilled to be your H4 counselor! This will be my third year as a counselor and first year as a Directional Leader at H4 and I can’t wait to share this experience with you.
I am originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky and will be starting my senior year at WKU this fall. I am a Biology major with a Pre- Medical concentration and intend to attend medical school after my undergraduate studies. Medicine has always peaked my interest and after shadowing experiences in various clinical settings, I have developed a passion for healthcare.
In my time on the Hill, I have gotten involved on campus through AED (Pre-Medical Health Society), Greek life, and WKU Spirit Masters, which is a student ambassadorial group that works to promote and preserve what makes WKU so special. Through my campus involvements and the support of the Mahurin Honors College, my love for this university has grown immensely and I couldn’t be happier to share the contagious spirit of WKU with you.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports and spending time outdoors. As a sophomore, I had the chance to study abroad at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. In my time abroad, I learned about elements of British culture, took courses toward completion of my major, and travelled to 12 countries. This experience was made possible by the Mahurin Honors College and I am ecstatic to share my experiences with you.
H4 is a unique place where you begin to grasp the sense of community found at the Mahurin Honors College. You may be a little nervous to start your first year of college (I definitely was), but it is most important to be optimistic and willing to step out of your comfort zone. This is a piece of advice that I wish was given to me when I was in your shoes and I am hoping you make the most of your time at H4. You are now not only a part of the Hilltopper family, but a member of the Mahurin Honors College family and H4 is your first experience with the wonderful faculty, staff, and scholars that will be there to support you along the way. Your time on the hill will be the best years of your life and I can’t wait to meet you!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
I look forward to meeting you!
