Kelsin Kemble

Hey everyone!

My name is Kelsin and I’m super excited to get to be your H4 counselor this summer! H4 is just one of the many things that makes the Mahurin Honors College and WKU the warm and welcoming place that I am so excited to get to share with you. Kelsin Kemble

I am entering my Junior year here on the hill, but only my second semester as a Computer Science major. I am from just outside of Louisville where I love to spend time exploring different pizza places, coffee shops, or just walking around with family and friends. This summer I have been super busy as Co-op with Michelin in Louisville around my time as an RA for the Governor’s Scholars Program at Morehead.

I was drawn to WKU for several reasons, but mostly because of how amazing of an experience my two older siblings had within the Honors College and the opportunities it provided them and what I knew it could provide me. It has been amazing to get to turn their stories of studying abroad into my own personal stories as I studied in Grantham, England in a program called Harlaxton College for an entire semester last fall. It was during this time that I was able to live and have classes in a manor house, explore Europe, create memories of a lifetime, and grow in ways I can’t quite articulate.

However, you are also going to have the chance to get involved with whatever your interests are on campus as well. On the hill you can catch me giving tours as an Honors Topper, an active member of my church, participating in intramurals, working out in Preston, studying in the Honors College & International Center, or heading off to GADS for a study break donut. There are so many amazing ways to get involved and there’s no better way to enter college than with the mindset to give it everything you have, even if that means pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. Come with the intention of being truly present in order to help build a constructive community and to make this place your home away from home.

Try to come in without already limiting yourself, but instead with an open mind to explore, learn, and stay curious.

I am here to help you learn what it means to be a scholar of the Mahurin Honors College and help you have the best transition into this exciting new chapter of your life. If you have any questions or there is anything I can help you with, don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email, text, or Instagram.

I can’t wait to meet you!
