Katherine Schaaf

Get pumped for one of the best weekends of your college experience! Welcome to H4, a weekend in the forest where you get out of your comfort zone, meet new friends, learn/master the WKU fight song by singing it 100 times, and (of course) just have fun!Katherine Schaaf

My name is Katherine Schaaf and I will be your
 counselor this weekend and--fingers-crossed--
your friend for much longer :). I am from
Louisville, KY and a rising junior majoring in
Exercise Xcience and Spanish (with a career
goal of physical therapy). Here at WKU, I am
very involved in Greek life as well as Dance Big Red (an awesome 12-hour dance marathon where we raise money in support of Norton Children’s Hospital). Besides that, you will see me everywhere on campus from working at the Preston Center to playing sports on the intramural fields to having a good Steak ‘n Shake milkshake in DSU to end a hard week.

About three years ago, I decided to attend WKU for the pure fact that I loved the way alumni showed their pride in this school whether it be 1 year or 50 years since they graduated. Looking back on these past three years, I have definitely found my family within the Mahurin Honors College, been pushed out of my comfort zone through various leadership positions, experienced a once-in-a-lifetime study abroad journey in Spain, and currently spending my summer as a camp counselor with the most resilient kids at the medical camp, Center for Courageous Kids. However, this is just a little bit of my story and I can’t wait to help you all start your own stories very soon!

I urge you all to come into college with an open mind, forgetting any and all expectations you might have, and simply let yourself love WKU. This school and community has so much to offer so get ready to come and make the most of it!

If you have any questions whatsoever, please do not be afraid to reach out to me by email or phone!

So excited to meet you all!

Katherine Schaaf
