Jessica Wellum

Hi!

My name is Jessica Wellum and I will be your H4 counselor this summer! I hope that your summer has been a memorable, but also relaxing one and you are ready for a great time at your Honor’s retreat!

I am going to be an incoming sophomore here at WKU and I am excited to welcome you to the Hill! I am majoring in Nursing with hopes to keep traveling and ultimately work in the OR as a Nurse Anesthetist. I am from Louisville, KY and graduated from Christian Academy of Louisville in 2018. When deciding where I wanted to continue my studies I really was not sure. I wanted a school that would be a second home to me but would also challenge me in many ways. This is exactly what I found at WKU.Jessica Wellum

I have been challenged as I have gotten involved on campus through joining a sorority, serving as a Spirit Master, and being involved with CSF and CRU campus ministries. For fun I love to do intramural, go hiking at the parks, and enjoy biking around campus with friends. Next spring semester I will be studying abroad at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England.

Here are some fun facts about me that some may not know:

  1. I serve and make popsicles at Steel City Pops in Louisville
  2. I served as President of the Chaco Club for 3 years in High School
  3. I am 1/2 Canadian
  4. I have my black belt in Tae Kwon Do
  5. When I was little I knocked out 8 of my teeth by running into a metal pole

College will be such a great and pivotal point in your life, but it all comes with balance. Each person has the ability to accomplish what they plan to do as they learn how to time manage. I hope to be able to be a tiny guide and answer any questions that you may have about the hill, life, or anything in general. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and I cannot wait to meet you!

Go Tops!
