My name is Hannah Perdew and I will be your H4 counselor this summer!
I was a camper in 2015 and this will be my third and final year as an H4 counselor. I will be a senior this semester and I am a Communications Disorders major with a concentration in Speech Language Pathology. I also have a minor in Psychology and I am currently working on completing my thesis about the assessment of problem solving in those with autism. I was a Governor’s Scholar in 2014 and I returned to work for the program this past summer as a Resident Advisor.
I am from Shepherdsville, KY, which is just south of Louisville, and I went to Bullitt East High School. I love travelling, writing, puppies, and most importantly, Mexican food. I spent this past semester studying abroad at Harlaxton College. I got to live I England for four months and visit eight countries. It was the adventure of a lifetime and I got to see some of the most amazing places in the world!
I am the second oldest of five kids in my family. Three of us are already in the Mahurin Honors College at WKU and the youngest two plan to follow behind us. Both of my parents graduated from WKU, so we are a born and bred Hilltopper family! I chose the Mahurin Honors College because from my very first visit on the Hill, I knew that everyone within the Honors program wanted to see me succeed and would push me to take the opportunities that would help me grow most. The Mahurin Honors College is my favorite thing about WKU and my college experience would not have been the same without it! I have met some of my very best friends and made some of my favorite college memories through the opportunities the Mahurin Honors College has led me to.
Campus involvement plays a huge role in a successful, enjoyable college experience. I am a member of a sorority on campus and an ambassador for the Honors College as an HonorsTopper. I am also a student employee at the Kelly Autism Program and I love my job so very much!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me! H4 is a great way to kick of your college career and I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
