My name is Daniel Stapp, and I will be your H4 counselor this fall! I am a Nursing major from Louisville, KY. I’m going into my senior year on the Hill!! As sad as I am that it’s my last year at WKU, I’m super excited to be starting it off with you!
I love WKU because there’s always another opportunity to get involved or to meet someone new! Getting involved is a surefire way to make your college experience an amazing one! I’ve tried my best to be as involved as possible. I am a member of a fraternity on campus, which has given me a lot of leadership opportunities and great friends. I am an HonorsTopper, one of the ambassadors for the Mahurin Honors College! I am also a member of the newly started WaterStep club. As if I didn’t already have enough on my plate, I am also a TOP Guide, so you may recognize me from your orientation day! Another reason I love WKU is because our campus is so beautiful. Be sure to explore it and make it your home. Oh, and definitely take pictures (gotta get those Insta likes)!
My favorite thing about the Mahurin Honors College is the community. I practically lived in the lobby my freshman year because it was always full of people! Everyone in the Mahurin Honors College is so friendly and welcoming. I’ve met some of my best friends through H4 and living in Minton and Bates Runner Halls. The Mahurin Honors College is also full of opportunities, so be sure to take advantage of all of them that come your way!
Outside of classes and clinicals, you can catch me hanging out with my friends, binging Netflix or Hulu (most recently Brooklyn Nine-Nine), volunteering at the humane society, or choreographing a dance for my fraternity for one of our crazy dance competitions! I also consider myself a huge movie buff, so I go to the movies a lot. I love setting up my Eno outside of Minton and relaxing with friends or doing homework at Starbucks because I can always socialize/people watch as well as feed into my coffee addiction!
My advice for you as you embark on your college experience would be to take risks and step outside of your comfort zone. The comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there! Try a new club/activity or say hi to your neighbor because you never know what you may find.
Finally, let me just say that you made one of the best decisions of your life when you chose WKU and the Mahurin Honors College. I’m super excited to meet you and help you start off your college career with an amazing experience at H4!
If you have any questions (and I know you do!), feel free to email or text me! See you soon! Go Tops!

P.S. – It wouldn’t hurt to take a peek at the words to the fight song...you’ll definitely need to know them at H4!
