My name is Bailey and I will be your H4 Counselor this fall! I was an H4 camper in 2017, and it was such a wonderful experience for me that I knew I wanted to come back and serve as a counselor. I am beyond excited to meet you all and get into all kinds of trouble during camp this year.
I am a Junior from Louisville, KY studying Nursing and American Sign Language. Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved both on campus and in my community, finding the overlap between others’ needs and my own passions and skills. On campus, I currently serve as a WKU Spirit Master - the official student ambassadors for WKU - where I get to show prospective students and families why WKU is the coolest place ever. I am also involved in WKU’s American Sign Language Organization (ASLO) where I served as a camp counselor at KY Lions Deaf camp last summer. I’m currently learning how to sign the National Anthem so I can translate it during WKU football games! Last semester I traveled abroad with Semester at Sea, traveling to 12 different countries and making friends from all around the world. In Bowling Green, I am a Crisis Hotline and Medical Advocate volunteer for Hope Harbor, Inc. and enjoy spending my time doing yoga and rock climbing at the gym with friends.
Some of my favorite things ever include:
- Labrador puppies
- GADS blueberry donuts
- Second-hand shops
- Acoustic guitar covers
- Windy days
- Sweet potatoes
I am so excited to meet you and walk with you during the beginning of your best adventure yet. I know this time can often feel overwhelming and intimidating, and that is okay. Freshman year is challenging and scary, but it is also wonderful, exciting, and transformative. You have big things ahead of you, and I can’t wait to see how you shape both WKU and the world around you. The best is yet to come.
If you have any questions or just want to chat, I’m here. Shoot me an email or text me anytime.
See you soon!
