My name is Allyson Taylor, but you can call me Ally, and I’ll be your H4 counselor this year. I loved my H4 experience so much as a camper, that I couldn’t stay away! I am from Lancaster, Kentucky which is a little town south of Lexington. I am an Accounting major entering my senior year here, on the Hill. This is my third, and last year being a counselor. This is the first of many lasts for me, but I am so excited and cannot wait to meet each of you!
As I am currently writing this, I am living at Bellarmine University in Louisville, where I am employed as the Budget Coordinator by the Governor’s Scholars Program.
Campus involvement has been where I made some of the best memories starting my freshman year and even to this day. From the moment you step foot on campus, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. I am currently a part of the Big Red Marching Band, Omega Phi Alpha sorority, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, as well as the Tutoring Coordinator at the Student Athlete Success Center. For the past two years, I have had the privilege to represent the Honors College as an HonorsTopper! This is one of my favorite activities that I am involved in on campus and it feels so good to give back to something that has given me a community and some of my best friends.
The Mahurin Honors College has become a home away from home for me. My favorite part is the relationships you make within the community that surrounds you. It is full of support and encouragement to strive to be the best that you can be. We truly are one big family and I cannot wait for you guys to join! H4 will be the start of your journey, and I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. H4 is where I met some of my best friends and for that, I am forever thankful.
