My name is Allyson Taylor, but you can call me Ally, and I’ll be your H4 counselor this year. I loved my H4 experience so much as a camper, that I couldn’t stay away! I am from Lancaster, Kentucky which is a little town south of Lexington. I am an Accounting major entering my junior year here on the Hill. This is my second year being a counselor, and I am so excited and cannot wait to meet you!
As I am currently writing this, I am living at Northern Kentucky University, where I am employed by the Governor’s Scholars Program. But also this summer, I finished up visiting all 50 states and I studied abroad with the band in Europe; where we went to Spain, France, and Italy.
Campus involvement has been where I made some of the best memories of my freshman year and from the moment you step foot on campus, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. I am currently a part of the Big Red Marching Band, Omega Phi Alpha sorority, and tutoring student athletes at the Student Athletic Success Center. For the past year, I have had the privilege to represent the Mahurin Honors College as an HonorsTopper! This is one of my favorite activities that I am involved in on campus and it feels so good to give back to something that has given so much to me.
The Mauhrin Honors College has become a home away from home for me. My favorite part is the relationships you make within the community that surrounds you. It is full of support and encouragement to be the best that you can be. We truly are one big family and I cannot wait for you guys to join! H4 will be the start of your journey, and I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. This is where I met some of my best friends and for that, I am forever thankful.
If you have any questions about anything WKU or even about me, you can contact me through your topper email or text. Don’t hesitate to reach out; I would love to hear from you! Be prepared because we’re going to have a blast!
