My name is Abby Stivers, but most people call me Ab Stives. I’m super pumped to be your H4 counselor!
We’ll get to meet each other in person soon, but I’ll tell you a little bit about me for now! I’m a Senior from Louisville, Kentucky majoring in Elementary Education, so I only have one more semester before I’m student teaching full- time in a school in Bowling Green.
On campus I’m involved in a number of things. I’m first and foremost in the Mahurin Honors College, which is how I get to serve as your H4 counselor this year. I attended H4 my freshman year, but this is my first year as a counselor, so I’m excited to meet you and for all the fun to begin! I’m a Tour Guide and Student Ambassador for the Office of Admissions, as well as an HonorsTopper (HT), a representative for the Mahurin Honors College, so if you see me on campus I’ll most likely be giving a tour! Through HT’s I also get to serve as the Coordinator of Recruitment for the organization. I am also very involved with Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) on campus and serve as their Office Administrator, where I fulfill my lifelong dream of being a personal assistant/event planner by keeping up the calendar, organizing everything, buying office supplies, and creating signs for the events they have.
One important thing you should know about me is that I despise chocolate and peanut butter. I’m not allergic, I just don’t like it. Never have, never will! I do, however, love other junk food and constantly get GADS donuts (a BG favorite) or Cookout nuggets and a milkshake. In my free time I’m often outdoors hiking or kayaking or reading in a tree I climbed, but I can also binge Netflix hardcore and really love shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 30 Rock, and Parks & Rec.
If I need to get work done, I’m hopefully outdoors (weather permitting), but I also love the HCIC lobby balcony as a study space.
If I could offer any advice as a grizzled old senior, it’s that your time at H4 goes by so fast, so soak up every moment! There will be memories made during H4 that you’ll look back on for years to come, and you’ll get to make so many wonderful friends in the process. H4 was when I found my love for WKU (which led to me being a tour guide) and I also got to meet so many people that ended up living around me and being great friends! I wish for your H4 experience to be as fulfilling and exciting as mine, and I can’t wait to share it all with you!
I would love to learn a little something about you, so please email me! If you have any questions I'm happy to help!
See you soon,
