Abby Preston

Dear future H4 campers,

Hello! My name is Abby and I am so excited to meet you all and kick start your lives at WKU. But first a little bit about myself. I am a senior from Georgetown, Kentucky. I am majoring in Music Education with a focus in Violin and Voice.Abby Preston

I’m involved in several groups on campus. I am a music director of the WKU Treblemakers, I play in the orchestra, and am a part of several music educators associations. I also stay involved in the Mahurin Honors College, specifically through H4 and serving as an HonorsTopper. I have also studied abroad twice (Austria and Costa Rica) and I strongly recommend it!

Fun fact, I came to WKU in seventh grade for an awards ceremony and knew it was where I wanted to go to college. Once I got close to finishing high school the idea of attending a university I picked in seventh grade seemed ridiculous, but each time I visited WKU it felt more like home. I made my decision after I attended one of the Honors Luncheons and heard about the great opportunities in store. That’s when I knew WKU was the school for me.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to be resilient. Transitioning to a new school, new friends, and almost a new life can be challenging, but with the right attitude and some perseverance you will find a life at WKU that you love.

If you have any questions about H4 or WKU or anything feel free to contact me. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I can’t wait to meet you all!

Roll tops,

Abby Preston
