WKU Habitat for Humanity

Allison Hohenstein

Allison Hohenstein
- Former President: WKU Habitat for Humanity

About Allison

Allison is from a small Kentucky town called Radcliff. She is double majoring in Economics and Chinese and participates in the Chinese Flagship program at WKU. She has studied abroad in Taiwan and China.

She became involved with Habitat as a sophomore and became the Treasurer that same year. She went to the first meeting and absolutely loved it. Her favorite part of Habitat is learning. She loves to learn, and Habitat teaches not only construction skills, but also life skills. She's learned how to safely use power tools (her favorite is the nail gun) and has learned a lot about herself and the community by going on builds and trips. Her favorite memory is meeting the partner family that received the house that we worked on during a break trip. She thinks getting to know the people that benefit from your hard work is the most meaningful and humbling experience
