Kentucky Writers Conference

Bestselling authors and educators participating in SOKY Book Fest will teach craft workshops about everything from plotting techniques to employing poetic language to getting published. The conference is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, so you must register in advance.

The Kentucky Writers Conference is made possible through the generous support of Dollar General.

SOKY Book Fest Teen and Children's Day

During Teen & Children’s Day activities, illustrators and authors will make presentations, sign copies of their books, and be available to discuss their work one-on-one with elementary & high school age students. Multiple activities for all grade levels will take place throughout the day.

Books will be available for purchase from author tables throughout the event. Activities and crafts will be available all day.

Meet the Authors Reception

A special component of SOKY Book Fest weekend is the annual Meet the Authors Reception. The reception is a prestigious event, allowing community members to meet with authors the night before SOKY Book Fest for an evening of drinks,* food, and fun. The 2017 Meet the Authors Reception will be held on Friday, April 20th from 5 to 7 pm in the West Lobby of the Knicely Conference Center. *You must be of legal drinking age to consume alcohol. Please remember to bring a valid ID.

Tickets to the reception are $50 per person and cover food and beverages consumed at the event for that individual. You can purchase tickets online at sokybookfest.org in March.

Authors scheduled to attend this year’s reception include Lemony Snicket, Maggie Stiefvater, and many other authors of varying genres.

Tickets to the reception are $50 per person and cover food and beverages consumed at the event for that individual. This winter, you will be able to purchase Reception tickets online. Stay tuned for more details.

Ticket sales will close Monday, April 16 at 4:30pm (Central time).
