20th-century British and American literature, the modernist novel, narrative theory, film and television studies, postwar Italian cinema, popular culture 


Elizabeth Alsop received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the City University of New York Graduate Center, where she also earned a certificate in Film Studies. She holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University.  Her work has appeared in College Literature, The Velvet Light Trap, Adaptation, and the Quarterly Review of Film and Video, and she has also written essays on film, television, and popular culture for The Atlantic, The New York Times Magazine, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Her current book project examines the evolving function of dialogue within the Anglo-American modernist novel.
