    [Section_Value3] => <p>Lesa Dill received her B.A. from the University of North Alabama with majors in English and Art.&nbsp; She also received a K-12 teaching certificate before leaving North Alabama.&nbsp; She then traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas to the University of Arkansas where she received her M.A. in English (linguistics) in 1981.&nbsp; She was awarded her Ph.D. in 1986 at the University of Georgia in Athens.&nbsp; Dr. Dill arrived at W.K.U. as an associate professor in 1987.&nbsp; She received as second Masters in Biology (Molecular Genetics) in 1996.</p>
<p>Currently, she is involved with&nbsp; Teaching English as a Second Language courses and the certificate and teaches courses in that program almost every semester.</p>
<p>Her life outside academia include gardening, painting and jewelry design.&nbsp; She is also a lover of murder mysteries and suspense novels. And she enjoys singing in one of Saint Joseph&rsquo;s choirs</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>Jacqueline Gibbons earned a BA (1997) in Sociology, and an MA (2011) in Adult Education from Western Kentucky University (WKU). During her career as a contractor, she developed and facilitated multiple trainings for staff members at Communicare, University of Kentucky&rsquo;s Targeted Assessment Program, and the Department for Families and Children. Mrs. Gibbons assisted in the development of a high school mentorship program, children&rsquo;s environmental program, and began writing an online blog focused on education and other areas of interest. Mrs. Gibbons began teaching English at Mid-Continent University and went on to instruct Composition I and Composition II in class and online. She returned to WKU and is currently pursuing her doctorate in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program. She is a part-time English instructor at Southcentral Community and Technical College and WKU. Mrs. Gibbons is currently actively engaged in curriculum and program development research.</p>

    [Section_Value4] => <p>My teaching philosophy is fueled by my passion for learning that goes as far back as sitting on my grandmother&rsquo;s porch swing singing ABCs. Because of my passion for teaching, I have become one of the many educators who seek out knowledge for self-improvement that ultimately enhances my ability to teach more effectively.&nbsp; Over the years as I have facilitated training events and taught college courses, I have come to realize that each student is unique, and thus each classroom has its unique personality and should be treated as such.&nbsp; For these reasons, I have come to understand the importance of being flexible and above all creative in order to meet the diverse needs of the students.&nbsp; When something is working well in one class, it may not be so in another. Therefore, I keep my creative toolbox handy and pull what I need from it. When my toolbox appears to be devoid of what is needed, I consult colleagues, search out new methods and go on a hunt for that thing that I can bring to the classroom to ensure that students are engaged. For engagement may lead to curiosity and inspiration, and inspiration may lead to a great many things in a student&rsquo;s current life as well as far into the future.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>Having decided at an early age that teaching would be my chosen career, I worked very hard all through high school and attended WKU on an academic scholarship.&nbsp; After flip-flopping my major and minor several times, I&nbsp;graduated in 1998 with a major in Mathematics and a minor in English, with certification to teach both in high school.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I was hired by Barren County High School in&nbsp;1999 to teach both subjects, but as the schedule worked out, I was only needed as an English teacher.&nbsp; This was quite a change from the math teaching I had completed as a student teacher, but I realized that I loved teaching English!&nbsp; Because of this, I returned to WKU to&nbsp;work on my Masters of Arts degree in English and earned it in December of 2002.&nbsp; I continued teaching junior and senior English for BCHS until 2005, when I quit teaching full-time to care for my newborn son.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I had already began teaching English part-time for WKU-Glasgow in Fall 2003, and I continued this even after I no longer taught at BCHS.&nbsp;In the fall of 2013, I helped open the first-ever Writing Center on the WKU-Glasgow campus.&nbsp; As the Coordinator of the WC, I hire, train, and oversee the student tutors of the Writing Center to make sure all student writers gain their maximum potential.&nbsp; WKU-Glasgow is a good fit for me: I love the students and the location.</p>

<p>As the Assistant Director for the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning, Wren provides both in-person and virtual training and consultations for faculty who wish to better their skills with technology in the classroom and online teaching; this includes Quality Matters training. She also serves as a facilitator for the Graduate Assistant Teaching Institute (GATI), for the Part-Time Faculty Teaching Institute, and for other Professional Learning Communities for faculty at the university. Wren is also consults with faculty and staff on integrating High Impact Practices (HIPs) into their courses and programs. Previous to her position in with CITL, Wren served as the Training Coordinator for Distance Learning (2013-2016) and as the Instructional Coordinator for the Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching at WKU (2010-2013). Wren came to work in faculty development and training from faculty, working as an Assistant Professor in English at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College for KCTCS (2005-2009), and she has also taught for WKU as an Adjunct Instructor in English since 1999 and in the Organizational Leadership program since 2016.</p>

She is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Instructional Design at WKU. She teaches composition courses for WKU and Volunteer State Community College; she also tutors in developmental English courses at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College. When not grading or teaching, she is reading anything she can get her hands on and planning her next travel adventure. She lives in Bowling Green, KY with her violin playing husband and their two tabby cats, Daisy and Gatsby.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>In high school, the only &ldquo;most likely&rdquo; I received was &ldquo;The most likely to become the next Francis Bacon&rdquo;&mdash;due to my winning an impromptu essay-writing competition.</p>
<p>Essay writing was what I loved most to do&mdash;writing about politics, religion, or history. But, while attending WKU (earning a Master of Arts in English (1996), my teacher asked me to write about myself. It was so scary! I almost dropped out of school in the final semester of my master&rsquo;s program. But I faced the fears and began to write&mdash;and then went on to write an autobiographical master&rsquo;s thesis. I wouldn&rsquo;t describe it as great writing, but it changed my life.</p>
<p>I&rsquo;m convinced we&rsquo;re asked to focus far too much on what other people (experts, literati, heads of state, and such) have done or said or written. When I ask students to write a research paper on some passionate interest of their own, many tell me, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t have any.&rdquo; (They do&mdash;but they are not aware what it might be.) So I teach writing with an emphasis on celebrating our own lives&mdash;discovering, as we do, those passions we&rsquo;re hardly aware of, after years of schooling that focuses on what other people think, and say, and do.</p>
<p>I love teaching&mdash;love reading what my wonderful students write&mdash;and love it that we can meet together online and celebrate our lives. Why not make each day a celebration&mdash;even if it is a little scary?</p>

<p>A Simpson County native, Mrs. Ware took her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her Masters is from Indiana University, Bloomington. And she has a Rank I&mdash;30 hours beyond an M.A.&mdash;from WKU.</p>
<p>Her hobbies are community theatre, gardening, and music. She has sung with the WKU Choral Society for many years and is an alto in the Franklin Presbyterian Church choir. Her most recent major projects were directing<em> Little Shop of Horrors</em> and <em>A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum</em> for the Franklin-Simpson Arts Council as well as a production of a musical&mdash;<em>Dark and Bloody: A Kentucky Love Story</em>&mdash;that she cowrote with a friend.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><span style="color: black; font-family: Times New Roman,serif; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif; font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Dawn Winters originally hails from Dayton, Ohio, but all of her higher education years have been spent at WKU.&nbsp; Her background is in English, Education, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.&nbsp; She is currently pursuing an Ed.D in Post-Secondary Educational Leadership and plans to finish in 2015.&nbsp; Her full-time job is Program Director for English as a Second Language International at WKU, which is the intensive English language program housed in Tate Page Hall.&nbsp; She thoroughly enjoys working with international students who have brought the world to her doorstep. </span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman,serif; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="color: black; font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif; font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;">She lives in Bowling Green with her partner, Sarah, and their two dogs (a boxer named Roxy and a pug named Mops) and three cats (Crookshanks, Yoshi, and Neville).&nbsp; She is a bibliophile whose reading interests include historical and speculative fiction, biographies, and Anglophone literature.&nbsp; When she has spare time, she enjoys knitting, traveling with Sarah, watching bad television, and playing Lego video games.</span></span></span></span></p>
