WKU's Dental Hygiene Clinic
The Dental Hygiene Program operates a clinic in which it's students treat patients under the supervision of dental hygiene faculty members. Every effort is made to accommodate patients, however, patients are appointed on the basis of the instructional needs of the student. Please note that being seen in WKU's Dental Hygiene Clinic is not a substitute for your primary care dentist. O.S.H.A. and A.D.A. infection control guidelines are adhered to.
Services Provided
The services performed are determined by the student's treatment plan in consultation with the clinical instructor. The patient's needs and the student's instructional needs are considered in this determination. Services performed in our clinic MAY include the following:

Intra-Extra Oral Examinations
Individualized Home Care Instructions
Dental Charting
Periodontal Charting
Prophylaxis (Scaling and Polishing)
Periodontal Maintenance Procedures
Appliance Cleaning
Fluoride Treatment
Amalgam Polishing
Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Sedation
Local Anesthesia Administration
Desensitizing Treatment
Tooth vitality Testing
Fabrication of study models
Radiographs (bitewings, periapicals, occlusal, and panoramic)
Intraoral photos
Sealants
Dietary Counseling
Tobacco Cessation
Referral (as necessary)
* Please note that WKU's Dental Hygiene Clinic does not provide teeth whitening services.
Appointment Information
Appointments to receive dental hygiene treatment in our clinic may be made in person by coming to Academic Complex 221 or by calling (270) 745-2426. Appointment times are subject to student availability.New patients must complete a free, 45 minute screening before cleaning appointments can be scheduled. Please call for availability.

Clinic Fees
WKU Student: $15.00
Public: $25.00
Fees are to be paid to the Clinical Receptionist (AC 221) upon check in. We accept cash and check only. Please make checks payable to WKU DH.

Parking
Parking on campus is limited. If you do not have a university parking permit, we ask that you park in WKU's Diddle South Visitor Parking Lot. A validation for this lot may be purchased from the clinical receptionist for $1.00.
