WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Leslie Watkins is the Senior Director of Development for Potter College of Arts & Letters.  In this role, she provided leadership and support as member of the development team that successfully completed WKU’s first comprehensive campaign, Investing in the Spirit, which raised $102 million, including professorships in history, music, and journalism; and in WKU’s second comprehensive campaign, A New Century of Spirit,( $202 million raised).  She also completed a successful building campaign for the Adams – Whitaker Student Publications Building.  In addition, Watkins has given presentations and worked with other non-profit organizations on fundraising, strategic planning, and board development.

Watkins earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in English from Western Kentucky University and is an adjunct faculty member in the WKU Department of English.  She has served as President of the Bowling Green Junior Woman’s Club, the Head Start Policy Council, and The Symphony at WKU.  She is a member of the Southern Kentucky Estate Planning Council, the Association of Arts &Sciences Advancement Professionals, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
