Topper Talk (Formerly Phonathon) began in 1981 as a volunteer-based program that only lasted a few weeks. In 1998, the program moved to a year-round effort, enabling student callers to contact more alumni and friends than ever before. Currently, 50 student callers place calls to more than 50,000 alumni and friends of the WKU throughout the year.
Dollars pledged through the Topper Talk program support the various academic departments, student organization and athletic programs throughout WKU’s campus. Many times, the call you receive from a student caller is the only contact you will have with WKU in a given year. Our goal is to not only increase alumni participation in the AnnualFund, but also connect alumni and friends back to the University.
The Topper Talk program is housed in the Garrett Conference Center room 108. Calls are placed between the hours of 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. If you are interested in finding out more about the Topper Talk program, feel free to contact William Skaggs in the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at firstname.lastname@example.org.
