Under the instruction of Expert Wood Fire Ceramic Artist, Lindsay Oesterritter, the WKU Associate Professor of Ceramics in the Art Department, participants will learn how to create pieces in clay and then load and fire those pieces in the wood kiln. Participants will also help unload the kiln and learn finishing techniques that will make their new ceramic wares table ready.
The workshops are offered in a sequence with the first for making, the second for firing and the third for cleaning. The studio will be staffed on Friday (June 12) from 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday (June 13, 14) from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. by Asst. Professor Lindsay Oesterritter.
Times for June 19 – 21 and June 26-28 will be announced at first session.
