Master Educator Course

Master Educator Course

The Master Educator Course is a 16-credit hour program designed for Army ROTC faculty seeking professional development.

The MEC curriculum addresses:

  • Pedagogy
  • Instructional technologies
  • Organizational analyses

The program is divided into four WKU courses delivered in a classroom setting in Fort Knox, Kentucky and two practicum courses. During practicum courses, Cadre faculty are coached and mentored as they implement the skills learned at Fort Knox into their work at their home institution.

Students enrolled in MEC will complete undergraduate coursework in Leadership, College Teaching and Learning, Instructional Strategies, and their associated practicum.

This course, combined with an assessment of credits earned based on each student’s JST99, is designed to lead to an Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies and the proposed Certificate in Instructional Strategies from WKU.

While at Fort Knox, students will have ample opportunity to consult with WKU advisors on additional degree pathways that incorporate the MEC and/or transfer credits that help meet each students career goals.
