Interior Design Senior is Finalist in Design Competition
|Date: Saturday, December 1st, 2012||Return|
Jade Boyle, a senior in interior design, is officially a finalist for the PAVE the Way 3D Design Competition. This year's competition was to design a store retail fixture to display one model from one brand of headphone. Places for winners have not yet been announced, but she will at the very least get honorable mention and $500 on top of the title!
Typically there are at least 100 entrants, so this is a rather substantial competition sponsored by the PAVE organization. This is the student offshoot of A.R.E. (Association for Retail Environments), which is one of the largest retail professional organizations in the country.
The even more exciting part is that her fixture will be built by Van Stry Design fixture manufacturers and displayed at GlobalShop trade show in Chicago, April 16th-18th 2013.
Thanks to Kristina Goff, Interior Design Instructor in FACS, for encouraging Jade and other students to enter the competitions.
