Greetings and Welcome to the Hill!
It's a great time to be a Hilltopper, but an even greater time to be a student in our College of Health and Human Services at WKU! With the positive hiring trends in both the health and human service sectors, these are exciting and dynamic times for our students and our graduates.
We welcome you to become involved in the numerous opportunities and experiences provided by our faculty and staff. Our mission in the CHHS is to inspire the discovery and application of knowledge in health and human services. We hope that you take advantage of your college experience at WKU by exploring the programs, resources, service learning opportunities as well as study abroad experiences that are available to you.
"Experiential learning", or "learning from doing" enhances positive outcomes, including enhanced student learning, on-time graduation, and seamless transition into the workforce. Hands-on application of knowledge can help to build a student’s skills and networks, as well as offer valuable professional experience. Here in the CHHS, we have long been conducting experiential learning. However, we are poised to take the learning experience that students receive in CHHS to an even higher level that not only enhances learning, but also positions them for success after graduation.
I invite you to view the various websites across the college to gain an understanding of the numerous opportunities provided through our majors, organizations, and activities. Your success is important to us and we look forward to helping you achieve your career and educational goals.
Interim Dean, College of Health and Human Services
