Professor Gotlieb specializes in the areas of marketing management and marketing research. His current research interests are in the areas of perceived quality, perceived risk, and satisfaction. Other topics of interest include the effects of comparative advertising and inofrmation processing.

Professor Gotlieb's research has been published in some of the leading journals. Among his publications are "The Moderating Effects of Message Framing and Source Creibility on the Price-perceived Risk Relationship," Journal of Consumer Research; and "Consumer Satisfaction and Perceived Quality: Complementary or Divergent Constructs," Journal of Applied Psychology. Professor Gotlieb's research has also been published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, and other journals. Professor Gotlieb is also a member of several professional associations including the American Marketing Association. Association for Consumer Research, and the Academy of Marketing Science.
