Bio
Dr. Neelly is an Assistant Professor and the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Dr. Neelly, a Kansas native, received a BA in Health, Physical Education, & Dance from Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas in 1991, an MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1993, and a Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas in 2002. Prior to coming to WKU, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Science at Bradley University. Dr. Neelly has several years of experience teaching Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Functional Anatomy, Foundational Patient Care Skills, and Therapeutic Exercise. He has also served over ten years on the Physical Therapy Admissions Committee while at Bradley University. Dr. Neelly has continued to be active clinically, the past six years treating patients in an Acute Care Medical Center setting. Dr. Neelly’s research interests include PT student loan debt, resistance training with heavy chains and elastic bands, and biomechanical changes associated with pregnancy. Dr. Neelly is the proud father of 3 teenage boys and enjoys coaching and attending their athletic endeavors.
