Bio

Jan Hunt-Shepherd has a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from Western Kentucky University and a Bachelors Degree in Medical Records Administration from University of Central Florida.  She is an Assistant Professor in the Healthcare Information Management Program at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She also provides consulting services and interim management to health care facilities throughout the United States.  Previously Jan spent twelve years in Healthcare Management. Jan holds certifications from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator and a Certified Coding Specialist and from the National Association of Healthcare Quality as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.  She is a former President of the Kentucky Health Information Management Association and has held the role of an AHIMA delegate in the House of Representatives.  She is also an AHIMA Approved ICD-10 Ambassador Trainer.
