Big Red's Blitz
Become a partner for this year's Big Red's Blitz day of service by signing up your organization to host a project site! The WKU ALIVE Center for Community Partnerships and Housing and Residence Life are actively planning for this year's Big Red's Blitz on August 21st as part of M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan for first year students. We would love to have your organization partner as a project site hosting a group of students willing to volunteer with your organization for four hours. We are looking for 40 partners for this year's Big Red's Blitz. The day begins at 9:00am for the students, and they will volunteer at organizations from 10:25-2:25pm. If your organization is interested in serving as a project site, you view more information in the project packet and sign up using the online form.
We are also glad to talk to you about participating in person or over the phone. The deadline to signup is August 1st, but we would like to secure most of the project sites by the middle of July. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Aurelia Spaulding at email@example.com.
Campus and Community Network
You are invited to the Campus and Community Network annual meeting on Tuesday, August
12th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. The WKU
ALIVE Center for Community Partnerships coordinates the Network to connect campus
and community professionals to increase networking among campus and community-based
organizations and to effectively address ongoing community challenges. Specifically,
the network strives to increase collaboration among organizations of similar purpose
and mission in order to combine resources, bridge gaps in services and ensure equal
access to services.During the meeting, attendees will learn about existing groups
working to address pressing community needs in collaboration with other faculty, staff,
and students, and community partners across all fields.

The $100 Solution Faculty/Staff Training
The WKU ALIVE Center for Community Partnerships cordially invites faculty and staff to The $100 Solution™ fall training. This training is for faculty and staff interested in utilizing The $100 Solution™ service-learning model in their courses or with student organizations. Nearly 200 students participate in courses at WKU each year that utilize The $100 Solution™ as a service-learning tool. Students apply their course concepts in real-world settings by partnering with the community to solve a problem or address need.
The $100 Solution™ Faculty and Staff training will take place on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the ALIVE Center from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This training will allow interested individuals to become certified faculty and staff in The $100 Solution™ program. The $100 Solution™ is a popular and effective service-learning tool at WKU, and it is a leading model utilized around the world. Register by September 1st online.
